Seth MacFarlane, the show’s creator, and star went to Twitter to inform that Hulu has set a new release date for Season 3 of 20th Television’s long-in-development The Orville. The Orville: New Horizons has been moved back two months from its original March 2022 launch date, and will now air on June 2, three years after the sci-fi dramedy’s 14-episode second season ended.
In addition, the streamer has released a fresh new sneak peek trailer from the third season, which gives viewers a look at the first four minutes of the show’s opening sequence.
“Thank you for bearing with us while we handled the production problems brought on by the continuing COVID-19 outbreak,” MacFarlane said in a statement. “As is customary in the ever-changing television scheduling environment, our program has been moved, which means the wait will be a little longer, and we’re now prepping for a June 2nd premiere on Hulu.” We’ve always promised you a television experience worth the wait, and we’re not going back on our word. We understand your dissatisfaction with more delays, so we’d like to offer you a taste of what’s to come. Here’s a look at the opening few minutes of our season premiere, as well as our new main title!”
