Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi conceived and wrote For All Mankind, an American science fiction drama streaming television series made for Apple TV+. After the Soviet Union succeeds in the first crewed Moon landing ahead of the United States, the series dramatizes an alternate history illustrating “what would have happened if the global space race had never ended.

” Joel Kinnaman plays fictional NASA astronaut Edward Baldwin in the series, which also stars Michael Dorman, Sarah Jones, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, and Wrenn Schmidt. Apollo 11 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins, Mercury Seven astronaut Deke Slayton, rocket scientist Wernher von Braun, flight director Gene Kranz, US Senator Ted Kennedy, and US Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan are among the historical figures featured in the series.

For All Mankind began on November 1, 2019, and was renewed for a second season by Apple TV+ in October 2019, with a premiere date of February 19, 2021. The second season received positive reviews and was nominated for a TCA Award for Outstanding Dramatic Achievement. The series was renewed for a third season in December 2020, ahead of the second season’s premiere on June 10, 2022.

Season 3 Cast of For All Mankind

Season 3 will bring some changes to For All Mankind’s large ensemble cast, albeit they are difficult to foresee.
Michael Dorman and Sarah Jones will not be returning, because Gordo and Tracy Stevens gave their lives to preserve the Moon from nuclear catastrophe.
The rest of the primary cast will return, however, their characters will be in their 40s or 50s, thus they will require aging cosmetics. Ed Baldwin is played by Joel Kinnaman, Karen Baldwin is played by Shantel VanSanten, Ellen Wilson is played by Jodi Balfour, Margo Madison is played by Wrenn Schmidt, Danielle Poole is played by Krys Marshall, and Molly Cobb is played by Sonya Walger.
Coral Pea as Aleida Rosales, Cynthy Wu as Kelly Baldwin, and Casey W. Johnson as Danny Stevens is among the younger cast members. Perhaps one of the latter two is the astronaut who is wearing the boots on Mars’ surface.

The plot of For All Mankind Season 3: What Will Happen in Season 3 of For All Mankind?

We don’t know much about For All Mankind Season 3’s plot, but we can make some educated assumptions about what to expect. A boot stepped foot on Mars in the season 2 finale, but we don’t know if it belongs to a US astronaut or a Soviet cosmonaut.

The shoe’s owner will undoubtedly be revealed early in the series, maybe hinting at a new space race. Despite what the current teaser says, this mission was a cooperative effort between NASA and the Soviet Union.

There will also be another time jump. Season 1 took place in the 1960s and 1970s, while season 2 took place in the 1980s. When will Season 3 premiere? We’re going back another decade to the 1990s, so we hope you like grunge music (1995, to be specific).

This is especially fascinating because the USSR had already fallen apart by this point in ‘our’ history, and we’re eager to see if the Soviet Union could endure the political turmoil that brought it down in the real world.

In Season 2, it was also revealed that Piotr Adamczyk’s engineer Sergei Nikulov was a Soviet spy who was attempting to persuade Margo to defect. Because of the time jump, we won’t witness the immediate consequences of this, but it’ll almost certainly be taken up at some point.

For All Mankind’s first two seasons spanned over two decades, beginning in 1969 and concluding in the late 1980s. The third season will take place in the mid-to-late 1990s, specifically 1995, as both the season two ending of For All Mankind and a new teaser trailer for the third season reveal.
