Ludacris and Martin Lawrence Are Among the Black Celebrities to Be Honored with Stars on The Hollywood Walk of Fame!

More Black icons will be recognized for their accomplishments in the entertainment business and immortalized with their own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, marking yet another milestone in Black history.

Black thespians from numerous entertainment areas, including television, music, and recording, will get the accolade, which was announced on Friday (June 17) by iconic radio personality Ellen K, who also serves as the chair of the Chamber’s Walk of Fame selection committee.

Among the freshly announced recipients are Martin Lawrence, Ludacris, Sheila E., Charlie Wilson, Lenny Kravitz, Garrett Morris, and a posthumous star for the legendary Juanita Moore. Paul Walker, Uma Thurman, John Favreau, Jonas Brothers, Mindy Kaling, and others were among the celebrities announced.

Ludacris took to social media to announce his latest achievement. He wrote, “Hey Momma, Your Son Has Been Selected To Receive a STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame In 2023.” “GOD IS THE GREATEST.”

Martin Lawrence tweeted, “Ya child is getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!” with short footage of him celebrating the news. It’s a true honor to be among entertainment legends!”

Seven Black Superstars Along with A Handful of Other Celebrities

The seven Black superstars, along with a handful of other celebrities, were picked and ratified by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s board of directors on Wednesday, after being chosen by a committee of notables who had previously gotten a star on the Walk of Fame (June 15). This group of people was “carefully chosen,” according to Ellen K.

During the Hollywood Walk of Fame press conference, Ellen K remarked, “The panel thoughtfully picked these remarkable individuals, and we can’t wait to celebrate them as they become part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most recognized walkway.”

Dates for the Walk of Fame ceremonies have yet to be revealed as of Monday (June 20), but according to committee regulations, performers must arrange their induction ceremony within two years of being chosen. The Walk of Fame committee will announce ceremony dates ten days prior to the event.
