The Voice’s Gwen Stefani Describes Blake Shelton as A “Jerk”!

On Tuesday’s episode of “The Voice,” viewers were shocked by the sudden development in the competition between Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton.

The 19-year-old Austin Montgomery sang “I Can’t Help It If I’m Still In Love With You” by Hank Williams, and the two celebrities were blown away. Shelton responded by implying that Stefani was unfamiliar with the history of country music, prompting a swift insult from the singer.

While Montgomery was on stage, Stefani, Shelton, and Camila Cabello all spun around in their seats in the hopes of recruiting him. Stefani argued that Montgomery had an “ancient soul” for using a song from the 1940s in her pitch.

The vocalist of “Hollaback Girl” remarked that Montgomery must listen primarily to “everyone that everybody’s grandpa would know.”

The other coaches were then subjected to Shelton’s teasing. I think it’s crucial that you ask the three of us who sings that song you just sang, Austin,” he remarked. “At least one of us can identify the composer and performer of that tune.”

When Shelton made the comment that Stefani and the other coaches probably wouldn’t know a Hank Williams song, Stefani, who married Shelton just a year ago, called him a “jerk.” But she swiftly brushed it aside, going so far as to say that Shelton would be the best coach for Montgomery.

“That guy right there, he really appreciates your work. I mean, I want to guide you, but I also want to be honest “…she explained. Montgomery decided to take Stefani up on her offer to join Shelton’s squad.

Season 22 of The Voice has been marked by the humorous banter between the coaches more than ever before, and that’s because in large part of the chemistry between Stefani and Shelton.

This is their first public appearance as a married couple, and they seem to relish poking fun at each other in front of a huge audience. Like the song says, “Happy Anywhere,” it’s just a lot of fun. Before the new season began, Stefani told Entertainment Tonight, referring to one of their songs.

John Legend, meanwhile, claims Shelton will lose to Stefani this season. She calms him down a little bit, I guess, like I stated,” Legend said. For him, she represents his greatest vulnerability.

So far, Shelton is the only coach to appear in each and every season of The Voice. Both Cabello and Stefani haven’t appeared since Season 19, so this is a big deal for them. From Season 16 forward, Legend has been the head coach.

Kelly Clarkson took a break this season to concentrate on her talk show, but Camila Cabello is sitting in for her. The Voice airs on NBC at 8 PM ET on Mondays and Tuesdays and may be viewed on-demand at Peacock.
