Fans can’t help but ask why RHOC stars Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley are not married despite being together for 13 years. Gretchen previously expressed her thoughts on the subject.
Even though they are no longer on the Bravo reality show, Gretchen and Slade are still of tremendous interest to devoted fans of the brand.
But how come the two reality stars aren’t married?

Gretchen and Slade Are Still Together
Gretchen and Slade are still married. After leaving ‘RHOC,’ the couple briefly appeared on the reality show ‘Marriage Boot Camp’ in 2014 to determine their prospects of getting married. Following that, they scheduled a wedding date for May 23, 2015.
Which they revealed on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’ — but were unable to carry it out due to Slade’s pressing work commitments.
The couple, however, maintained going strong together, disregarding all the worries people projected on them for not getting tying the knot.

Gretchen and Slade have a good and secure relationship that many fans have long admired. They’ve been married for 13 years, and their family increased with the arrival of Skylar Gray Smiley in 2019. Speaking about marriage, Gretchen provided her ideas on why she hasn’t tied the knot, providing for example couples like Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn.
“You know what, no wedding preparations as of right now,” she remarked on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast with David Yontef. “Like, I feel like I want to be like Goldie [Hawn] and Kurt [Russel]. Like, look at how long they’ve been together. And they’re so happy and in love.”
She continued: “Or like look at Oprah and Stedman. And they’re all doing fantastically well. And I swear all of the individuals that have married after being together for so long.
As if they ended up divorcing!” The reality star spoke out about her IVF treatments, which helped her conceive their daughter, as well as the high cost of a fairytale wedding.
“I want to do things large and lavish,” she explained. “So the reason we put it on hold was that IVF was so expensive. As a result, we focused all of our efforts on it. So I’d like to do something significant. And I’m not sure if I have it in me to plan the whole thing. I mean, I feel like her baby shower was a mini-wedding for us.”

The Couple Now Has a Child Together

Both Rossi’s and Smiley’s life have altered very substantially since The Real Housewives of Orange County, as they now have a kid together. According to People, the couple had a daughter Skylar Gray Smiley in July 2019. Rossi’s gorgeous daughter is frequently featured on her Instagram profile, and she appears to be thoroughly enjoying motherhood.
In honor of Father’s Day, Rossi shared a nice family photo on Instagram with a thoughtful statement on June 22. “There is no one else I would rather be doing this parenting thing with than you,” Rossi said in Smiley’s caption. “Thank you for being an amazing Father and spouse!

Rossi Underwent Several Rounds of Ivf to Conceive
It wasn’t an easy route for the couple to get pregnant. When Rossi found out she was pregnant, the pair told People in December 2018 that they had to go through numerous rounds of IVF. “It’s honestly still so unreal,” Rossi remarked of her pregnancy to People.
“When you’re on a journey like we’ve been on for the last four years, it’s one of those things where you keep pinching yourself and asking, is this real?
” Rossi described her IVF process, saying that the first round failed. “I was terrified. “I was a 40-year-old lady returning to try IVF,” Rossi told People.
“We went through two more rounds of IVF and we did not have the same amount of eggs and the same amount of embryos as we did the first round four years earlier. It was terrifying to sit there thinking, ‘Oh my my, I removed 10 eggs.’
“I finally realized that I truly am lucky with my relationship with Slade and that everything else shouldn’t matter,” Rossi said after going through a hard patch during their IVF journey.
