Jack will definitely need more time to adjust to life as a cowboy, but his loyalty to his family is evident. In his episode, the pilot discovers that Jack has postponed his marriage to his fiancée Elizabeth (Michelle Randolph) and helped his father and great-uncle take the cows to the mountains and feed them.

The sacrifices Jack made for his family seem oblivious to John and Jacob. Nevertheless, he traveled with them into the mountains, where he met the shepherd Banner Clayton and fed the nearby herds.
