Broderick Dornell Smiley, also called Rickey Smiley, was born on 10th August 1968. He is a famous Stand-up comedian and a television host. Apart from this, he is also a talented actor and radio personality. He currently is the host of ‘Rickey Smiley Morning Show‘ which is based out of Atlanta from ‘Hot 107.9′.
His Career
Broderick was the host of BET’s ComicView, which aired in the year 2000. Apart from this, he was also a part of shows like ‘Showtime at the Apollo’, ‘Def Comedy Jam’, and ‘The Nashville Network‘. He also used to perform original comedy performances where he used to play fictional characters like ‘Bernice Jenkins’, ‘Rusty Dale’ and ‘Beauford‘.

Personal Life
Smiley became a father when he welcomed his daughter whom he named Aaryn on 6th July 2020. Unfortunately, Aaryn was shot during a road rage incident.
Rickey Smiley made the announcement that his son Brandon Smiley has passed away on January 29, 2023.
Is Rickey Smiley Married?
Rickey Smiley married Brenda Morris with whom he shared 4 children with. They got married as teenagers. The couple were married for 12 years before they officially split. Brenda later got married to Tarius. According to her, she was married to the 54 year old comedian for 12 long years. She said this during an interview with Pierre Edwards in an episode of the Panic Room podcast.
There were rumors that Brenda had cheated on Rickey. But Rickey had immediately clarified these rumors by saying: “[She] never cheated, nothing.” Brenda will soon celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary with Tarius in April.
Currently, she works on her stepdad’s Radio One – Rickey Smiley Morning Show as an assistant producer.
Rickey has not been in a relationship with anyone since his split with his ex wife. He has mentioned in one of his interviews that he is not even looking for a relationship right now.
