Jenna Ortega’s Generation Z perspective on Wednesday In Netflix’s Wednesday, which premiered towards the end of 2022, Addams quickly won over fans.
A second season of the Addams Family spin-off has been confirmed, and it will not be leaving Netflix, as had previously been speculated.
Given that the series is produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), the historic Hollywood studio recently bought by competitor Amazon, speculation was widespread that a second season might become exclusive to Amazon Prime Video following the merger.
Netflix, on the other hand, has denied rumors that Wednesday could be picked up by Prime Video, formally declaring that a second season is in the works and will be available on Netflix.
“I’ve been hunted, haunted, and mimicked millions of times throughout the internet,” Ortega tweeted in response to the season 2 news. It’s been sheer hell. Thank you very much.”

Yes! Netflix has confirmed that Wednesday will return for season 2 on the streaming site, branding the show as a “global phenomenon” in the announcement video below.
“We can’t wait to delve headfirst into another season and explore the quirky, eerie realm of Nevermore,” showrunners Miles Millar and Alfred Gough told Netflix’s TUDUM.
“We simply have to be sure Wednesday hasn’t already emptied the pool.” “We’re excited to continue Wednesday’s tortuous trip into season 2,” they added.
“Thank you to everyone who made this upcoming season possible,” Ortega tweeted ahead of season 2. It’s all been quite strange.
Following Amazon’s recent acquisition of Addams Family owner MGM for a whopping $8.4 billion, there had been talking that the show’s extraordinary success could lead to it being snatched by Prime Video.
According to Deadline, Amazon’s MGM arrangement does not automatically imply that the producer’s material would become exclusive to Prime Video.
IndieWire also attempted to refute the rumors, citing a source who stated that a contract between Netflix and MGM had already been finalized long before Amazon purchased MGM.
