Howard Bragman was an American crisis manager, public relations expert, writer, and lecturer who lived from February 24, 1956, to February 11, 2023. He was regularly regarded as a “PR guru.”
Bragman founded LaBrea Media 2018, a crisis management company, and most recently held the position of Chairman.
Howard Bragman Cause Of Death
His family announced Sunday that he passed away in Los Angeles on Saturday night. Only 10 days ago, Bragman received a leukemia diagnosis, leading to his immediate hospitalization.
A native of Flint, Michigan, where he claimed that as a “fat, Jewish, gay kid,” he always felt like a martian, Bragman began his career in public relations in Chicago, where he worked with companies like Anheuser-Busch. He eventually relocated to Los Angeles, where he established Bragman Nyman Cafarelli (BNC) in 1989.
He earned a reputation as a go-to person for assisting well-known people in coming out, including Meredith Baxter from “Family Ties,” Chely Wright of country music, John Amaechi and Sheryl Swoopes of basketball, and Michael Sam of football.

Early Life And Education
The son of Myrna (Wolin) and Leonard Bragman, Bragman was born on February 24, 1956, into a Jewish family and raised in Flint, Michigan.
In 1978, he earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in journalism and psychology.
Later, Bragman admitted that the university’s welcoming culture and support from the LGBTQ+ Spectrum Center were key factors in his decision to come out.

Public Appearances
Beginning in 2010, Bragman served as an ABC News news consultant. Additionally, he made numerous appearances in national and regional magazines and newspapers like Playboy and the Los Angeles Times. And on local and network news programmes like The Oprah Winfrey Show, Good Morning America, Today, and Larry King Live.
Bragman served as Camille Grammer’s publicist in an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 2 and served as a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 1.
