The partnership between “Fortnite” creator Epic Games and Apple ended in August 2020 in front of a large audience.
One of the most played games in the world was removed from the App Store by Apple after an upgrade made it possible for “Fortnite” gamers to bypass Apple’s payment methods and pay Epic directly. In response, Epic filed a lawsuit, which resulted in a drawn-out legal dispute.
“Fortnite” has been absent from the App Store for over two years, but Microsoft just unveiled a new method for gamers to reinstall the game on their iPhones and iPads.
This is How It Works:
On your iPhone or iPad, launch the web browser app of your choice.
To sign in to your Xbox account, go to Xbox.com/play. You can register without cost if you don’t already have one.
You’ll be sent to a website with a tonne of games on the Xbox Cloud Gaming service after logging in. The free-to-play video game “Fortnite” is one of the choices.

You may access your account by entering your current login details when you start the game. That’s all, then!
“Fortnite” broadcasts the game to your device using Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure rather than downloading it beforehand. This ensures that any potential delay created by the process is, as much as possible, undetectable.
Microsoft is aiming its own gun at Apple by giving “Fortnite” a free upgrade to its cloud gaming service, allowing it to once again work on iPhones and iPads.
Microsoft and Apple also got into a public spat in 2020 about Xbox Game Pass on the iPhone, in addition to the dispute between Epic Games and Apple over App Store regulations. Apple implemented a new policy for video game streaming services as a result of the disagreement, requiring that each game on a service be manually authorized before being permitted on the App Store.
According to an Apple spokeswoman at the time, “The App Store was established to be a secure and trusted destination for users to find and download apps, as well as a wonderful financial opportunity for all developers.” “All applications are evaluated under the same set of standards before they are placed in our store. These standards are meant to safeguard users and give developers a level playing field.”

An inquiry for comment was not immediately answered by Apple personnel.
