At the Berlinale International Film Festival’s Tár premiere this week, the Oscar winner made a stylish fashion statement.
Cate Blanchett is adept at making a style statement.
The 53-year-old Academy Award winner attended the Berlinale International Film Festival this week to see her Oscar-nominated film Tár, and she did so in a chic Givenchy Couture ensemble.
Blanchett wore a warm-toned, floor-length tutu-like skirt in red and purple, along with a form-fitting, backless black turtleneck.
She wrapped a large-framed, chunky black belt around her waist to finish the look.
For the actress, who has recently been recycling her old outfits for award season, the Givenchy tutu ensemble is a fresh look.

Blanchett wore an all-black Maison Margiela gown that she first wore to the Oscars in 2015 last week when she attended the British Academy of Film and Television Award show in London.
With more pronounced frayed hems and an extravagant pearl Louis Vuitton necklace in place of the turquoise statement necklace she wore in 2015, she restyled the gown.
She also included a bright blue ribbon as a nod to the UNHCR, for which Blanchett is a Goodwill Ambassador, and as a sign of “solidarity with and support for refugees and displaced people around the world.”

However, the actress always wore an elegant updo to balance out the edgy-chic look.
At the London Critics’ Circle Film Awards earlier this month, Blanchet also repeated an electric blue Alexander McQueen outfit.
At the Where’d You Go, Bernadette premiere in New York City in 2019, the actress debuted the outrageous electric blue silk sleeves on her black blazer.
