Breakup alert! RHOA star Eva Marcille has filed for divorce from husband Michael Sterling after almost 4 years of marriage. The fashion model and the lawyer tied the knot in an Atlanta ceremony in October 2018.
The model-turned-actress has just asked a court in Georgia to formally dissolve her marriage, according to documents obtained by TMZ. She makes it obvious that she and Michael aren’t together right now as well, stating that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no prospects for a reconciliation.”
“This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting,” Marcille told People. “Our children remain our biggest priority and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
The pair married on Oct. 7, 2018, and “are currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” Marcille’s attorneys wrote in the filing.

“The Young and the Restless” actress and her partner Michael Sterling are parents to three children, a 4-year-old son Michael Sterling Jr. whom they welcomed in 2018, and 3-year-old Maverick Sterling. Additionally, Michael plays a fatherly role in the life of Eva’s daughter Marley Rae, from her previous relationship with ex Kevin McCall.
The former America’s Next Top Model winner is requesting legal and primary custody of their children, along with child support. She is also seeking assistance with “care and maintenance” expenses as well as medical costs related to the children.
Marcille is seeking an “equitable division” of the assets that she and her partner Michael Sterling acquired during their marriage, including her separate property. She is also requesting that their debt be divided in an equitable manner by the court.
Marcille’s Instagram profile has been devoid of any recent posts featuring Sterling since earlier this year when she shared a photo of him on a yacht with a simple caption of a sunflower emoji.
After a long time of absence from Eva’s Instagram, Sterling made it back to her feed when in February the California native, posted a video on Instagram of herself and Sterling dancing together. The caption read, “Happy Valentine’s Day forever and ever.”

On the other hand, Sterling’s most recent post featuring Marcille was on Valentine’s Day, where the two are seen laughing and smiling while she sits on his lap.
In the caption, he called her “My forever Valentine.”
He added, “I am so in love with you that there isn’t anything else.” Happy St. Valentine’s Day. #thesterlings”

After getting hitched in 2018, there were no visible signs of any trouble in Eva and Michael’s relationship. In fact, she has even spoken highly of him in front of the camera before, making their current situation a clear indication that something has changed.
