The Star of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip discusses with the media the circumstances surrounding her exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2021. In order to dispel speculations about her departure from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Williams is doing so.
The third season of Peacock’s Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip marked the reality star’s return to the Real Housewives universe on Thursday. This is the first time she has appeared on television since 2021’s Porsha’s Family Matters, the seven-episode Bravo spinoff she oversaw after leaving RHOA that year after nine seasons.
Williams exclusively tells the media about her return home, “It’s fantastic to be seen again.” But occasionally it will burn you a little bit, it was great to receive a tiny taste, a little twang, of this world again after a while.
Williams is well aware of it. She left RHOA months after it became public knowledge that she was engaged to Simon Guobadia, whom she had met while filming season 13 of the franchise through his then-wife Falynn Pina, a frequent visitor on the program billed to fans as Williams’ “friend.”
Fans were unaware that Guobadia and Pina had split up by the time he and Williams began dating when they made their relationship public soon after season 13 of the show ended. Williams’ statement that she was quitting RHOA only gave the impression to some that she was terrified of being held accountable on TV. Reports were circulating that Williams had “taken” Pina’s husband.
Williams claims it was not at all the case.
She adds, “I wasn’t running away.
” “And I don’t think any of my fans who really know me would think that I would leave the show for that,” she said.
Williams’ personal life has certainly had many ups and downs, as the RHOA cameras have documented. When she initially started working on the program in season 5, she was married to former football player Kordell Stewart; however, she soon discovered that he was divorcing her after seeing a post on social media.
She had a daughter together, Pilar Jhena McKinley, who is now 4 years old, but their engagement with Dennis McKinley ended after he cheated on her. Despite this, she struggled with postpartum depression after the birth of Pilar.
Williams remembers to the media, “I’ve faced with a lot of terrible stuff on the program. No, this has nothing to do with it, I’ve been there to shoot at the start of every season, the camera on. Williams said that 14 months prior, she had come to the decision that she would not be participating in season 2 of RHOA.
Even before I ever met my future spouse, she recalls, “I had already determined that it was time for me to break away at least six months before I notified any of the executives what I was going to do.” “I really just had to rethink where I was and what I wanted absolutely out of my life, so that’s where the choice came from,” she said. “I was reaching 40, I was nearing my 10-year milestone on the program.
Williams claims that reconnecting with Housewives through Ultimate Girls Trip occurred at the perfect moment. Sincerity be damned, she says, “I don’t think I’ve ever been this much of myself on television.” I’ve been on TV for ten years, so that’s really something to say.
This is partially due to the positive occurrences in Williams’ life, such as her marriage to Guobadia, who is 58, and her strong relationship with Pilar Jhena. Yet, it also helped to be out of the reality TV spotlight.
Williams, who co-stars on RHUGT with Leah McSweeney, Gizelle Bryant, Candiace Dillard-Bassett, Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Alexia Nepola, and Marysol Patton from the Real Housewives of New York City, claims that she is the only member of the cast who isn’t now a cast member of another program. I was a genuine housewife who rushed into TV and was all up in these girls’ tea, not a talented person at the time.
She tells the media, “It felt like a fresh start.” I really just enjoyed introducing myself to these girls and having some genuine moments with them, as we were able to get to know one another without having to delve into any old messes. I wasn’t connected to any of their current drama, so there wasn’t any baggage for me. It was really free and refreshing.
It’s true that some of those old messes—like the aforementioned allegations concerning Guobadia—did resurface. She also finds herself justifying remarks she made about Dillard Bassett and supporting Monique Samuels, Dillard Bassett’s former RHOP co-star, and rival.
But Williams wasn’t bothered by a little shadiness. She explains, “I kept it moving. “Peacock’s entire vision for Ultimate Girls Trip was for us to feel like we were really on a vacation, and production really encouraged that. It was, ‘Talk about what you want to talk about, break the fourth wall if you want, discussion something from 10 years ago or yesterday — whatever you want, just have fun,’ and I was having a time with these girls.

These girls don’t mind letting their hair down, and when you’re doing something like this, everybody’s got to Williams doesn’t completely rule out the possibility of returning to RHOA, but she tells media that she would like a different experience this time.
Williams comments, “It would be amazing if we brought the RHUGT vibe back to these events. The message is, “Hey, let’s let all that go. Let’s truly get to know each other. Let’s dive in and create true relationships with one other, and actually, have fun. Forget thinking about the camera. Just enjoy yourself and be yourself.
Williams would alter one more thing. Consider the larger picture. Oftentimes, Williams adds, you might become engrossed in what someone is saying to you because they are “reading you,” “insulting you or other media” or “pushing it on and making it worse.” I wish I had called a girl up and said, “Hey, let’s talk about this. Forget about the comments, forget about what Twitter is saying, forget about everything that’s going on.
Let’s talk about this. Are we going to be cool after this? Is that the intention, or do you just want to fight me forever?” “You have to think about the end goal. How did this relationship start? Where do you want it to end?” “I think I would have seen better outcomes with some of this stuff if I would have blocked all that out and simply dealt with that individual,” she claims.
