Yet your iPhone doesn’t come with a restart option as a computer does. Instead, you force a reboot by turning off your iPhone completely and then turning it back on. Yet, it turns out that restarting your iPhone is possible—just it’s concealed.
You may already be aware that there are a few alternatives available to you when it comes to turning off your iPhone. You may ask Siri to restart your iPhone for you if it has at least iOS 16 (we’re presently on iOS 16.2) installed. You only need to unlock your iPhone, then say something like, “Hey Siri, restart my iPhone,” and the virtual assistant will answer, “Just to confirm, you want to restart this device?” according to CNET’s Nelson Aguilar. Your iPhone will turn dark if you choose to accept the pop-up or choose to “Restart.” The Apple logo will automatically emerge after a little while, and your Lock Screen will eventually turn back on.
For those who are curious, you can also ask Siri to switch off your iPhone so you won’t have to move a finger to do so. So you’ll have to manually start it back up. Apple doesn’t appear to have figured out how to keep Siri active while your iPhone is turned off.
