Michael Jeffrey Jordan, usually known by his initials MJ, is a former American professional basketball player and entrepreneur. He was born on February 17, 1963. According to his bio on the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) official website, “By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.”
He participated in fifteen NBA seasons, earning six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls. Jordan serves as the chairman and primary owner of 23XI Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series as well as the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. In the 1980s and 1990s, he played a significant role in the globalization of basketball and the NBA, becoming a cultural icon.
Michael Jordan Career
Jordan won the ACC Freshman of the Year award as a rookie in coach Dean Smith’s system, averaging 13.4 points per game while hitting 53.4% of his field goals. In the 1982 NCAA Championship game against Georgetown, who was headed by future NBA rival Patrick Ewing, he made the game-winning jump shot. Later, Jordan referred to this shot as the pivotal moment in his basketball career. He played for the Tar Heels for three seasons, averaging 17.7 ppg on 54.0% shooting, along with 5.0 RPG and 1.8 APG.
In both his sophomore (1983) and junior (1984) seasons, Jordan was unanimously chosen for the NCAA All-American First Team. Jordan departed North Carolina one year before his expected graduation date in order to join the 1984 NBA draft after earning the Naismith and Wooden College Player of the Year awards that year. Jordan went back to North Carolina to finish his education, and in 1986 he received a Bachelor of Arts in geography. Jordan was selected for the 2002 ACC 50th Anniversary Men’s Basketball Team, which recognized the top 50 players in ACC history.

As the owner of pricey utilities and a multibillionaire, Michael Jordan has an impressive resume. Jordan also has an own golf club in Florida worth $20 million and an $80 million boat in addition to a number of high-end vehicles, including a $2.2 million Bugatti.
Jordan has also made a tremendous contribution to the fundamental problems that plague our society. His Jordan brand took action against the underlying issues hurting the Black community last year. The legendary Bulls player actually gave $100 million to the community’s battle against injustice and income inequality.
