All of us have had relationships in the past that we would like to end. A-listers in Hollywood are no different! There have been many celebrity relationships that were (nearly) forgotten over time. Some of these unlikely combinations will surprise you. In his new book, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” Matthew Perry looks at his improbable and brief romance with Julia Roberts, disclosing everything from how the two actors first met to the tragic reason for their breakup. Naturally, “Friends” was the beginning of it all.
According to Perry’s article for ET, “Julia had been offered the post-Super Bowl episode in season 2 but she would only do the show if she could be in my storyline.” She would only agree to the show if she could appear in my plot line, let me repeat that. (Was this a good year for me, or what?) I had to first win her over, though.
He admitted that he sent Roberts three dozen roses and a letter that said, “The only thing more exciting than the prospect of you doing the show is that I finally have an excuse to send you flowers.” He also revealed that he sent Roberts a dozen chocolates.
In an unexpected turn of events, Perry remembered, “Her reply was that if I adequately explained quantum physics to her, she’d agree to be on the show.” The following day, he sent her a paper on “wave-particle duality,” “the uncertainty principle,” and “entanglement,” and she accepted, as well as sending him a ton of bagels.
Danielle Fishel and Lance Bass
NSYNC’s Lance Bass and ‘Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel are reminding everyone of their prior relationship—by making it into a movie—in a pairing that could never even happen today. On the August 29 episode of the podcast “Pod Meets World,” which had Bass as a guest, Fishel revealed, “Lance and I are actually working on a movie about our love story and about our prom experience.” “While I was on ‘Boy Meets World,’ I dated Lance for approximately a year. Lance accompanied me to my high school prom in my senior year.
They admitted that they first connected at an NSYNC-hosted live episode of “Boy Meets World” in 1999. While the band was on tour and the actress was being filmed, Bass developed feelings for Fishel. He convinced Justin Timberlake to ask her for her phone number on his behalf, and the two later started dating. However, Fishel’s prom was a big deal because the two had secured a hotel suite and she had high expectations. “I had the impression that I would wed Lance. Although she had imagined their future together, their connection lacked “intimacy in the romantic sense.”
Bass said that the prom marked a significant turning point in his life. Bass came out as gay in public in 2006. We decided to turn this prom story into a movie because, in my opinion, so many people can identify with it. For many LGBT individuals, prom night was the night they thought, “Oh, wait a minute. This must stop happening, he urged. It took me a long time to start accepting myself, but this was the impetus for me. That was undoubtedly the first tiny straw that broke.

Dax Shepard and Ashley Olsen
Dax Shepard admitted that he previously dated Ashley Olsen, which is a revelation we could never even begin to fathom. “I dated Ashley Olsen and she’s just the most wonderful person,” he said to co-host Monica Padman on the edition of his podcast Armchair Expert that aired on February 28. She is amazing. Although he admitted that some people even at the time considered them to be “a pretty weird pairing,” he claimed she is actually “just super funny, sarcastic, and intelligent.”
Naturally, he was “kind of thunderstruck with the beauty” when he first saw her at a gathering. The actor stated why he hadn’t watched “Full House” before their meeting: “I probably wouldn’t have been able to be attracted to Ashley if I knew her as a baby.” He also admitted that he had never met Ashley.
Shepard credited her present success in the fashion industry to her involvement in the launch of her and her sister’s business The Row during their relationship, which allowed him to witness them being the “f—ing major bosses” they are now.
And what shared interests did the erstwhile couple genuinely have? Shepard claims that a passion for cars played a part in it. When they were dating, Ashley reportedly had a black Cadillac DeVille DTS, and Shepard said, “I wouldn’t mind reconnecting with her to find out if she has that DTS.”

Anthony Hopkins and Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart disclosed that she formerly dated Sir Anthony Hopkins on an episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” They would have been a power couple for all time if their romance had survived. Unfortunately, Stewart was compelled to put an end to things for a very peculiar but reasonable cause.
Stewart didn’t specify when they started dating, but it was probably in the 1990s, around the time Hopkins rose to fame for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991). Stewart felt compelled to end their relationship because she couldn’t quit thinking about his job as a cannibal! “I have a big, scary house in Maine that’s way by itself on a hundred acres in a forest and I couldn’t even imagine taking Anthony Hopkins there,” she said. “I couldn’t because, you know, all I could think about was him eating.”
