The rapper showed off his ambition on Monday night by attending the 2023 Met Gala in not one, but three stunning costumes (plus a fourth for the afterparty).
Cardi B is no stranger to nerves.
Cardi B, 30, admitted that she feels a lot of pressure to continually outdo what she wore the last time she walked the Met Gala red carpet, despite the fact that she is usually a must-see.

“Of course, seeing the Met is enjoyable every time. But I always feel anxious after visiting the Met for the first time, I dunno. In her Vogue video promoting the 2023 Met Gala, she stated that her fears “just grow and grow and grow.”
“Perhaps people expect me to look even better every year because of how great I look, which makes it difficult to compete with myself. That is disgusting,” she continued.
The “Up” singer donned not one, not two, but three stunning gowns for the big event this year (a fourth outfit was saved for the afterparty on Monday night).
She wore an extravagant pink tulle headdress and a plunging, embellished dress when she left her hotel. She entered the room wearing a silver wig and a black and white tie flowery ballgown.
In keeping with the evening’s “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” theme, both of her outfits were inspired by what Karl Lagerfeld and model Lily-Rose Depp wore for the 2017 Chanel haute couture Spring/Summer show.
Her third dress of the evening focused entirely on tweed, a Chanel hallmark, as she continued to pay respect to Lagerfeld inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was dressed in a bodycon pink and black houndstooth dress with gemstones on the bodice and hem and a plunging neckline.
She then changed into a newspaper dress with spaghetti straps for an afterparty at The Box, which she went to with her husband Offset.
During an interview with Vogue, the New York native discussed how anxious she feels before attending the invitation-only event.
“The anxiety,” Cardi remarked. I’ve been known to say, “I’m not doing the Met Gala next year, I just can’t do it,” as if it would be detrimental to my health.
The two-parent mother acknowledged that she gets anxious because she worries about “bad pictures, people not liking my outfit like it’s just everything, the pressure!”
