Max Strus, an American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA), was born on March 28, 1996. He participated in collegiate basketball for the DePaul Blue Demons and the Lewis Flyers.
Strus attended Amos Alonzo Stagg High School and played basketball and baseball there. He was born in Park Ridge, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He was 5’9″ when he started his sophomore year, but by the end of high school, he had grown to 6’6″. Strus averaged 19 points and 9 rebounds per game as a senior.
He was also awarded third-team All-State, All-Southwest Suburban Conference, All-Area by the SouthtownStar, and Area Player of the Year by The Reporter. Strus decided to play at Division II Lewis University, where his older brother Marty had played, despite only receiving one Division I offer (Chicago State).

Max Strus Parents and Family
John Strus and Debra Strus welcomed Max into the world on March 28, 1996, in Hickory Hills, Illinois, in the United States. At DePaul, his mother Debra participated in both basketball and volleyball and in 2000, she was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame. John pitched for Eastern Illinois in college baseball.
He has a sister, Maggie, and a brother, Marty, thus he is not the lone child in the family. Marty, who played basketball for Lewis as well, is currently the head coach at Stagg High School. Maggie played college volleyball for the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently an assistant volleyball coach at DePaul.

Max Strus’ Career So Far!
Strus was added to the Boston Celtics Summer League roster despite being undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft. For the Celtics, he scored 9.8 points on average per game while shooting 45 percent from three. Strus and the organization agreed to a two-way contract on July 22, 2019.
In order to fill one of the team’s two two-way roster positions with Tacko Fall, the Celtics announced on October 13th that they had signed Strus to a conventional NBA deal. Strus and Javonte Green are now directly competing for the final spot on the Celtics’ opening-day roster as a result of the roster change. Shortly before the start of the regular season, he was ultimately released.

On October 22, 2019, Strus signed a two-way contract with his hometown Chicago Bulls after being released by the Celtics. On November 22, 2019, Strus played the final five minutes of a 116-108 loss to the Miami Heat in his NBA debut, recording five points and one rebound.
The Windy City Bulls beat the Lakeland Magic 92-85 on December 21, but Strus suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a bone bruise on his left knee. The Chicago Bulls announced on December 23 that Strus would be out for eight to twelve months. Strus finished his rookie year having scored five points in two games played in the NBA and averaging 18.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in thirteen games played in the G League.
