Announcing that she “got the all clear” from her physicians, Martina Navratilova provided an update on her health. The 66-year-old nine-time Wimbledon champion thanked “all the doctors, nurses, proton, and radiation magicians, etc.” on Twitter on Monday following “a day full of tests at Sloan Kettering.” She wrote, “What a relief,” along with the hashtags “#byebyecancer:) and yes, #f—cancer!!!” in her post.

In a March interview with Piers Morgan Uncensored on TalkTV, Navratilova revealed that she has been given the all-clear by her physicians for the throat and breast cancers she was identified with at the end of 2022. The host was informed by the guest that “as far as they know, I’m cancer-free,” according to statements acquired by The Sun.

She continued, saying that after two weeks of prophylactic radiation on her breasts, “I should be good to go.” Julia Lemigova, Navratilova’s spouse, said she was by her side when they learned the wonderful news.

“I was by her side through the good, bad, and ugly. So I was there when she was given the cancer diagnosis, and it’s not a secret,” Lemigova told PEOPLE in March. “Of course, I was there when she told me the excellent news. Having to be. And that day, we had a party.

Lemigova expressed her joy that Navratilova is currently in remission but said that they are taking each day as it comes.

“All we strive to do is avoid getting too far ahead of ourselves. Simply hugging each other, giving thanks to life for each healthy day, and taking things slowly while being upbeat and joyful. It’s practically like starting over in life,” she remarked.

“We are out of the woods, but there is a long recovery period for all cancer patients when they are cancer free,” the Real Housewives of Miami actress stated. To help them, they require a lot of affection, as well as close friends and relatives. Because you still feel extremely weak and exhausted after being cancer-free. You need every ounce of love, support, and encouragement you can get from your family and friends.

Navratilova, 50, and Lemigova were married in 2014. Since the inaugural season of Real Housewives in 2006, they are the first same-sex pair to appear as regular cast members.
The tennis legend received her initial breast cancer diagnosis 13 years ago, but in 2010 she was given the all-clear. Navratilova admitted to PEOPLE at the time of her initial diagnosis: “It knocked me on my a–, truly. I feel like I have perfect control over my life and my body, but then something like this happens.
