On Saturday (October 1st), country music star Jason Aldean sent a moving statement to Instagram to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
Jason Aldean posted a poignant photo to social media showing him, his wife Brittany, and members of what he calls “his Route 91 family.” A Tribute to My Friends and Family on Route 91!
It’s still a bad day even though it’s been 5 years. In my thoughts, today are all of you.
On October 1st, between 10:05 and 10:15 p.m., during the third and final night of the Route 91 Harvest Festival, a mass shooter opened fire, killing 58 people. As the final performer of the night, Jason Aldean was on stage at the Mandalay Bay Resort when the gunfire began.
The shooter, later identified as Stephen Paddock, was staying on the 32nd floor of the resort, where he had access to a cache of weapons.
The death toll from the shooting has been put at 61. Due to gunshots and shrapnel, almost 600 people were hurt. On the last day of the event, more than 22,000 people showed up to hear the bands play.
Jason Aldean posted an Instagram message after the shooting. Tonight has been more terrifying than anything we could have imagined. I’m at a loss for words but just wanted to let everyone know that my crew and I made it out alive.
My prayers are with everyone affected tonight. The thought that this might happen to anyone on what was supposed to be a happy night breaks my heart.
During the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards, Jason Aldean discussed the Route 91 Harvest Festival.
In February, Jason Aldean reportedly mentioned the Route 91 Harvest Festival at the 2022 AMC Awards in Las Vegas. How he has come to perceive the city was discussed.
In his own words, “it’s not entirely the way I intended to be tied to Las Vegas by any means,” Jason Aldean said of the city.
However, since Route 91, I have developed a deeper emotional attachment to New York City. I like it here, man, and I like to visit often. I enjoy myself immensely whenever I visit this place. Except for that one time, it’s been perfect.”
Jason Aldean elaborated on his thoughts and feelings concerning the events of the past few days. But on a personal level, I can honestly say that I finally feel content. In the face of adversity, I just strive to keep going and improve the situation as much as possible. Honestly, I think that’s all I can do.
The country music icon opened up to Billboard about his year in 2019. According to Jason Aldean, “I was confused” after hearing about the shooting. I was really confused as to what was happening. Eight months into her pregnancy, my wife was showing.
That’s a rather terrifying thought. I had lost track of her whereabouts.
Your fear and anxiety are at an all-time high right now. Just a lot of confusion prevailed. I used the word “chaos” as one of the words to describe it.
