Farmhouse chic was popularised by Chip Gaines and his wife Joanna Gaines (née Stevens) on their HGTV home design and remodeling program, Fixer Upper. How Did Joanna Gaines and Chip Meet?
Joanna, who was 23 at the time, was assisting her father in his Waco, Texas, vehicle repair shop. As part of his efforts to win over his future bride, Chip allegedly made numerous trips to her workplace, boasting that “no one could get their brakes done as often as [he] got mine brakes done.”
After Chip was more than an hour late for their first date, Joanna almost called it off, but she decided to give him a chance. “I still can’t recall what he said to persuade me to accompany him out the door. He didn’t even have a plan for our date, she claimed in The Magnolia Story, her book from 2016.
A year later, Chip proposed, and on May 31, 2003, the pair tied the knot at Waco’s Earle Harrison House. Jo subsequently said to People that they “got in the limo and ate so much food” was her favorite memory of their wedding day.
“Thank God, this is why I’m here, I thought as soon as the door shut. In October 2022, she said, “I simply want to be with you and I want to eat.
