The character of Barry Berkman, played by Hader, is a familiar one: an assassin who attempts to start over by becoming an actor. But Hader also offers an emotional weight and shocking depth to the role as he struggles with his own sense of violence and the memories of his past. If you’ve watched the programme, you’ll understand why he’s won two Emmy Awards.

Hader’s participation in the series extends beyond his on-screen appearances. He is also a co-creator and co-writer with Alec Berg and has directed many episodes of the series. A Collider interview claims Hader will helm five episodes of Barry’s third season.
