Formerly known as Christina El Moussa, Christina Anstead is a tv personality and real estate investor in the United States. She first gained widespread recognition as a co-star on the hit HGTV series “Flip or Flop” alongside her then-husband, Tarek El Moussa. A new series titled “Christina on the Coast” premiered in 2019, marking the start of her recurring role.
Early Life
Christina Haack was born on July 9, 1983, in Anaheim, California. After finishing college, she entered the real estate market as her first job. Tarek El Moussa, her future husband, was introduced to her in this way. Before the stock market meltdown of 2008, when many real estate speculators and house flippers went bankrupt, the pair was quite prosperous.
Tarek and Christina El Moussa almost lost everything in the crash. They relocated from a $6000/month house to a $700/month apartment. The economy and their business both began to improve gradually.
Career
In 2011, Tarek had a buddy film him and Christina working through the entire house-flipping process for an HGTV audition tape. When the tape was released, it found its way into the hands of officials at Pie Town Productions. Executives were smitten with Tarek and Christina.
In 2012, the couple made their partnership with HGTV official. Back in April of 2013, the first episode of “Flip or Flop” was shown. There were 92 episodes spread throughout 7 seasons, airing from 2013 to 2017.
Christina and Tarek would spend several weeks renovating properties they bought on the show, usually mid-range homes in Orange County, before selling them for a profit. While Tarek focuses on demolition and renovation, Christina takes care of the design and makes sure the project stays on track.
Sources of Income
Christina and Tarek’s early season earnings averaged out to just $10,000 per episode. For the year, that amounted to almost $130,000. Pay increased to $40,000 per episode, or $600,000 for the season, during the third year. By the year 2019, when Christina was given her own HGTV show, her salary had risen to a whopping $50k each episode.
Net Worth
For those wondering, Christina Haack is worth a cool $25 million.
St. Christina on The Coast
Incredible as it may seem, Christina Haack and Tarek were able to put their issues aside and move forward with filming the eighth season of Flip or Flop. Christina DeMuth’s latest HGTV show, titled “Christina on the Coast,” premiered in May 2019. Christina is followed throughout Southern California as she renovates homes.
Owned Private Property
As seen in Season 1 of “Christina on the Coast,” Christina redid the outdoor space at her own Newport Beach residence. In 2018, she paid $4.15 million to buy the house. Christina put the house up for sale in April of 2021 for $6 million. At a price of $5.4 million, she made quite a profit on the sale of her property.
During the month of August 2021, Christina made not one but two substantial relocations. She bought a house in Nashville, Tennessee for $2.5 million in early August. Additionally, Christina made a property purchase in Dana Point, California for $10.3 million in the middle of the month of August.
Personal Life
It was from 2009 until 2016 that Tarek and Christina were a couple. Together, they’ve managed to produce a pair of offspring. They broke up not long after police were summoned to their house because Tarek had allegedly attempted suicide by fleeing there during an argument.
Tarek El Moussa insisted he had never felt suicidal and that he had only taken his gun on the trip with him for self-defense. A divorce petition was submitted by her in January 2017. Their real estate company, “The El Moussa Group,” which they co-owned, also faced an uncertain future after their divorce. In January 2018, they formalized their divorce.
In 2018, it was reported that Christina was dating Ant Anstead, an English TV host. They reportedly started dating in November of 2017. Located in Newport Beach, California, Christina and Ant tied the knot in the winter of 2018.
She legally changed her name from Christina El Moussa to Christina Anstead not long after. Christina and Ant announced their pregnancy in March 2019 on Instagram. Christina and Ant’s split was confirmed in September 2020. Several weeks later, she initiated divorce proceedings.
Christina Haack is the name she has used since before she got divorced.
