Love is in the air on “Grey’s Anatomy” as Kevin McKidd reveals Owen and Teddy have moved past their rough patch!
Kevin McKidd, who plays Owen Hunt on Grey’s Anatomy, recently spoke with People and suggested that there’s a chance for Owen’s marriage with Teddy Altman, played by Kim Raver, to survive.
According to the 49-year-old actor, the couple has managed to overcome the “big rift” that had formed between them after enduring several challenges over the past few seasons.
“They’re on the mend is what we’re going to see for Teddy and Owen as we go forward,” he promises. “They’re definitely falling back in love again, which is a good thing.”
McKidd explains that even with Teddy and Owen taking up new responsibilities at the hospital, they will have to figure out a way to balance their professional and personal lives.
“Their marriage life is going to equalize, but at the same time Teddy’s incredibly busy,” he says of her becoming the new chief of surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial. “That creates some distance between them.”

For fans of the couple eagerly anticipating the arrival of another child, McKidd has a special message.
He says, “I know that’s a lot of fans, a lot of the Teddy-Owen fans out there, I see them on Twitter a lot saying, ‘We want Teddy and Owen to have another baby.’ I don’t know if that’s going to happen, but I do think that would be a fun story to tell if it ever did because the first baby they had together… Teddy hid it from Owen and there was all that drama about whose baby it was.”
McKidd recalls that in season 15, Teddy was in a relationship with Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) while carrying a child, for which he says, “it was not the ideal circumstances.”
“I think a lot of the fans of Teddy and Owen really would like them to have a baby in a more healthy way,” he shares.
In a previous episode this season, Owen had appealed to the medical licensing board to help him and Teddy overcome their resentment towards each other, so that they could start anew.
He apologized for his callous behavior at work and home after having his medical license reinstated (it had been revoked for unlawfully administering pills to veterans as a form of assisted suicide). He apologized for everything to Teddy(Kim Raver).
She also apologized and shared, “I love you. Always have and always will,” before making him the chief of trauma once again.
On Thursday’s episode, Teddy made another reference to how the couple’s poor communication almost caused their union to end. “Owen and I didn’t talk for months and it nearly broke us,” she admitted to Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary).
