In 2018, months after passing out on live TV, the media person said she had Graves’ disease on Wendy Williams Show.
She asked, “What the hell is going on with Wendy?” “Alright, you know now that I have thyroid disease. Graves’ disease is linked to both my thyroid and my overactive thyroid. When you have Graves’ disease, the muscles behind your eyes get tight. I have the feeling that birds are flying around my head. Like a cartoon, you know.”
The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) says that Graves’ Disease is an autoimmune disorder that attacks the thyroid gland and makes it make more thyroid hormones than the body needs. Because of this, many of the body’s processes speed up.
Graves disease is more common in women, people over 30, people with a family history of Graves’ disease or Hashimoto’s disease, people with other autoimmune diseases, and people who use nicotine.
