While a good mystery may unite us, the “building with the most stories” teaser seems to be stumping some people.
We’ve all had to spend a lot more time at home than usual due to the global lockdown.
To combat the monotony of being cooped up indoors all day, many of us have had to come up with creative new methods to amuse ourselves.
Though streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ have been a boon to many, riddles and puzzles have emerged as a popular diversion in recent weeks, taking over social media in the process.
The question, “What building has the most stories?” is one type of riddle that has become popular on social media, and it’s safe to say that some people are finding it to be quite a challenge to answer.
Riddle: What Structure Holds the Most History?
The puzzle in question is a straightforward one, based on the inquiry:
How Many Stories Does This Skyscraper Have?
This sums it up nicely. It’s a seemingly easy question, but anyone who’s just looked up a list of the world’s tallest buildings can tell you it’s not.
If you had to guess, which building has the most interesting backstory, what would it be?
The solution is found in books.
Instead of asking how many stories high a structure is, the trick question instead asks which building houses the most books.
The Burj Khalifa in Dubai (seen above) holds the record for the most stories with 163 and is the tallest structure in the world at 828 meters.
